A Personal Question Author: limonize Email: spiral@spinfinder.com Rating: NC-17 **YOU MUST BE OVER 18* Summary: Nick reveals his situation. --+-- Simon strode down the corridor at high speed, swinging his arms for added momentum. He finally broke out into a full sprint. He was determined to catch up with the young teen that had just had the brass to steal his wallet right out from pocket while he was standing talking to Susanne! Susanne fairly skipped and ran to keep up to his rushing pace. "Nick! Wait up!" she begged, her chest beginning to tighten. Her low-heeled shoes gave her a lot less stability. She found herself almost breathless, having tried to keep up with Nick. "Just wait…" yelled Nick. It was hard to tell if he was yelling at the youngster or Susanne. But slowing reluctantly, Susanne did indeed wait. "I'll be back!" she heard Nick say from his retreating distance. Susanne finally gave up completely, realizing it was pointless to try to keep up. She realized more clearly, the disadvantages her smoking brought her through her lack of stamina for running. She watched Nick disappear around a corner. It seemed to symbolise her relationship with him. Always running to keep up. She did not understand him. He gave off those "I want you looks!" everytime she turned around and saw him eyeing her hungrily. But everytime she approached him directly, there was an air of distance and retreat in him. He listened to her attentively, but never said anything about himself. He blew hot and cold all of the time. It both perplexed and excited her. He went out with that black-haired woman, Lulu. This much she knew. She had even heard rumors that Lulu was pregnant. But she was sure Nick would have volunteered this if it were true. You didn't have a rugrat on the way and not tell people. She could not picture Nick having children any more than she could picture herself having them. She didn't even know what she was doing in child protection. She thought she would be able to save poor children from dire circumstances. But the children were...so hard... so ungrateful...often staunchly resisting her efforts to help them. They were far harder to help than she would have ever imagined. What was Nick was doing in child advocacy? He seemed to look so much more in his element at Fallin & Fallin. //Strange man, that sexy Nick!// Nick walked down the hallway towards her, with a grimly determined look on his face. "Did you get your wallet back?" she asked. He slipped it out of his back pocket and held it up for her to see the evidence of his success. "Well that's good! What a little brat!" she exclaimed. "He's in the same gang as that Hector kid you placed last week. He's got the same tattoo." stated Nick. "Nick, can I ask you something personal?" "No." Nick replied flatly. "Oh." This silenced Susanne to the point where she was stuck for words. "Oh-oh-kay!" They began to walk down the corridor together, Nick looking straight ahead of him. "What was it?" Nick relented. "Maybe I'll answer it...depends." "Are you and Lulu really close?" "What do you think?" replied Nick. "I...I really don't know." stammered Susanne. "And more to the point, what do you care?" challenged Nick. "Oh. Okay, if that's -" Nick suddenly grabbed her hard by her and slammed his torso against hers violently, quickly pushing her up against the wall. As he saw the instant arousal in her face, his heart began to bang hard against his ribs, consuming him with blazing hunger. Feeling Nick's erection rock hard against the inside of her leg, brought a choking fire to Susanne's throat and eyes. She let out a high-pitched moan. "Don't think so much…" he hissed. She wrapped her arms around his head and slid her fingers through his hair, digging her nails into his scalp. He gave her face a couple of brief kisses and plunged his tongue into her mouth, stabbing it in and out hotly, rubbing his groin against her feverishly. He tugged hard to hitch her skirt high. "We're in a hallway!" she admonished in a loud whisper. "An empty hallway!" he countered. "Nick!" The pitch in which she called his name alerted him to danger. He looked to the side in time to see a child poke its head around the corner and look at him. Nick instantly released her and heaved to catch his breath. "Oh God!" he said, as if he had been drenched in ice water and had finally realized what he was doing. "Susanne, I'm sorry - we can't be doing this anymore!" "What's the matter, Nick?" "I'm going to be a father. I can't do this." He winced and glanced at her with a deeply pained expression. He uprighted himself completely and began walking away from her, adjusting his tie and straightening his jacket. He could not even feel her dumbfounded stare on his back. The cold "coat" of a Fallin about to walk into court began to cover his eyes and face. "Mr. Fallin!" Judge Damsen glared at him appraisingly. "So glad you could *join* us today." The icy sarcasm was unmistakeable. "My apologies to the court, Your Honor. I was.." "'Held up...'" she interjected in a bored voice, without looking up. ~ ~ ~
