She is one of the worst sexual predators he has had to meet. They sit and make small talk, waiting for Nick to come in. Burton has decided to hand over the final work to Nick because he can no longer handle the woman and her ways. He smiles at the thought of how Nick will come to grips with her. The office has been buzzing for the four days she has been in Pittsburg. Nick comes into the office and he is not happy! He has heard all the rumors about this witch his father is dealing with. "Ah... Nick my boy. Please say hello to Shayla DeMarko. Shayla is taking over Hathaway Glass and I want you to finish putting the final touches on the deal." Nick looks at Shayla DeMarko with interest. She is… tiny! A long black bohemian gipsy skirt sits on the woman's hips, showing off a small black angel pin in her belly button. Her black top barely covers her breasts. She oozes sex. Shayla looks at Nick and turns to Burton. "What a beautiful boy," she all but purrs. "You never said you had such a good looking son." Nick feels his body heat raise a notch. "I have the Pitman case to get done before close of day," Nick reminds him. "I also have a court appearance at 11.00 which will take some time." "You will fit everything in just fine." Burton is not taking no for an answer. "In that case, Shayla, will you come to my office?" He takes the file his father offers him and gives him a look to kill. Burton is too glad to be rid of the woman to notice Nick's displeasure. "This will not take much more work. You can come back at 3.00 in the afternoon to sign the papers. All the ground work has been done and the revenue figures agreed. Around this time Nick becomes aware of THE CAT! It winds its way around his legs and he looks in horror as it leaves hair all over his suit. "Don't you have a box for that thing?" "Oh, Nick where is your charity? I can't leave the poor animal in a box! I was wondering if I could leave her here while I shop. Her name is Duchess Elvira Wington- Hartley. Call her Duch." Nick stares at Shayla "I won't call her anything. Get her out of my office!" Shlyla picks up Duch and calls back over her shoulder, "See you at three. When the deal is signed will you take me out to dinner?" Nick laughs; something about Shayla is very attractive in a raw, sexual way. Jake puts his head in the door. "If I come in will you tear me to pieces?" "I'm going to tear my father to pieces. It's not like him to pass on a client so late in the proceedings. I can't think what is wrong with him!" Jake is doubled over with laughter. "Boy, Nick you really should keep up with the office gossip. She has been trying to bed Burton for the last four days." "Damn, how could I have missed that? I heard she was difficult but the rest must have passed over me. Now I have to deal with her." Later, Nick lost in thought, and is standing by the window when he feels a hand slip into his left pocket. He freezes as it reaches down and takes his manhood into its soft grip. He tries to turn, but she is at his back. "Nick, you never said whether you would take me to dinner." The audacity of the woman amuses Nick and he laughs. "Let me go and I will think about it. Just leave my father alone. You are making him ill." "I'll take that as yes! Bye now!!" With all the paper work done, Nick starts to leave the office to go to court. Jake comes in and closes the door. He is pale and looks shaken. "What is wrong? Tell me." "Nick, I've just heard that Judge Tilson has been transferred here for the next two months." The blood in Nicks veins freeze as he remembers the last time he saw the Judge. "Why?" "There is a shortage due to the death of Judge Aminson. I think it's only to take up the slack. Maybe you can avoid her." "Not much chance of that, but I will certainly try my best. I have to go - I'm going to be late for court." Lulu is in the court waiting for Nick. "Where have you been? This is important." Nick is too on edge to be much bothered, and snaps, "I'm here now." "Mr. Fallin," says a familiar female voice. Lulu watches the color leech from Nick's face and he seems to stop breathing. His body is as still as death. He does not turn towards the voice or move in any way. "Mr. Fallin, my chambers at 5.00 if you don't mind. Can you manage that?" Nick turns at last and looks at the judge. The hate is palpable. "If you insist." "I insist!" barks Judge Tilson. Lulu is amazed at Nick's lack of respect for the judge. "Nick, what have you done now? This is too much. She has only just arrived and already you have made an enemy of her. Nick turns to Lulu and the fury in his eyes scares her." Don't talk to me about things you cannot understand. Do the case yourself. The work is all done I have to go." Back in the office, Shayla is waiting and Nick looks at her. "Don't even think of touching me," he snarls. "Just sign the papers and let me be." Shayla signs and asks, "How bad is it?" Nick turns to her with tears in his eyes. "Just about as bad as it can get." "I'll let you pass on dinner, then." Nick is touched by her compassion. Nick walks up and down outside the court trying to calm himself, but is not succeeding. How will he handle this? How will he look her in the eye without losing his temper? This is the woman who started him on cocaine, the woman who started up The Stress Club! Everything bad that has happened to Nick seems at that moment to have stemmed from his coming into contact with her. The clock slowly moved towards 5.00 and he knew he had to face her. Nick knocks on the chamber door. "Come." Nick walks into the office and looks over Tilson's shoulder to avoid her eyes. "Sit down, Trouble.. Nick, please sit." Nick rubs his eyebrow with his fingers looking down at the carpet, not willing to make eye contact with her. "I'm sorry, Nick. I'm so sorry. If I had only known. I thought it would… help. We needed you so much. You were the best, the brightest star in our sky. I wanted so much for you to join us. I never thought for a moment it would hook you. I have regretted my action that night since." Nick raised his eyes and was surprised to see tears running down the face of the Judge. "You didn't feed me for the rest of the time I took cocaine." "No… but I lifted you and put you on the road. Tell me you will someday forgive me" "It's not your fault. It was my responsibility. I could have been stronger. I should have been stronger!" "Nick, heaven knows what this will do to your career later. You must remember The Club is always there for you. It always will be and remember, we still need you. Think about coming back, please." Nick leaves the court feeling better than he has in a long time. Problems resolved, and with a spring in his step, he goes into his office. He stands at the window and looks out. He feels a hand moving into his pocket and laughs. "Haven't we been here before?" "I let you off with dinner, wasn't that nice of me?" Nick picks her up and with her legs wrapped round his waist he heads for the bathroom, tearing at a condom packet with his teeth as he goes. Sitting Sheila on the sink, Nick pulls her to him. He enters her with a moan of pleasure and then hears his office door open. "Nick, I need to see you in my office..." "Just coming Dad!"
